Allene Houston
Funeral service for Mrs. Allene Houston, age 82, of Decatur will be held on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Houston and the Rev. Donald Terry officiating.
Burial will be in the Mount Hope Methodist Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight, Nov. 6, 2004, from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Houston died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at her residence. She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Lawrence County, Ala, to John Henry Stanley and Velma Allen Stanley. She was preceded in death by her son, Deloy Houston, and her husband, Clarence Houston.
Mrs. Houston is survived by two sons, Donald Houston and Gaylon Houston, both of Decatur; two daughters, Joy Brown and her husband, James, of Decatur, and Faith Houston of Decatur; two brothers, Ollie Stanley of Rockford, Ill., and J.D. Stanley of Florence; five grandchildren, Derek Brown and his wife, Christina, of Danville, Johnny Houston of Decatur, Matt Houston of Decatur, Jeremy Houston and his wife, Jennifer, of Decatur, and Eric Barnes and his wife, Heather, of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Donald Houston, Harold Harrison, Tommy Appleton, Derek Brown, Wendell Houston, Matt Houston, Jeremy Houston, and Eric Barnes.
