Billie was born in Marietta, OK on November 17, 1924, the daughter of George Walker and Pearl Patton-Walker. She passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Lake Country Nursing Center at the age of 93.

Billie attended school at Marietta, graduating in 1942. She married David Slimp on April 10, 1943, in Marietta. The two owned and operated a dairy farm from 1950-1960. Later, David entered the church of Christ ministry and Billie became a very devout, hardworking, minister’s wife. Billie began working for the Little Brownie Company in the early 1950’s and continued through the late 1980’s before retiring. After her retirement she began to enjoy traveling with a group of friends from Little Brownie Bakers. Billie also enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales. She was a devout member of the Marietta church of Christ who loved visiting with her church family. Billie will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother who always cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband; by a brother, George Walker, Jr.; by two sisters, Wanda Clark and Jane Walker; by a daughter-in-law, Linda Slimp; and by a granddaughter, Kim Valencia.

Survivors include two sons, David Slimp and wife Connie of Marietta, OK and Charles Slimp of Athens, TX; a brother, Terry Walker and wife Peggy of Hot Springs, AR; by 11 grandchildren; by 8 great-grandchildren; and by 6 great-great grandchildren.

Serving as casket bearers will be Allen Woody, Brandon McMillin, Vance Parr, Finley Morgan, Joe Davis, Dude Powell, Duane Hicks, and Ben Willis.
