Wanda Kathleen Clark, 85 of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the Sterling House Assistive Living Center in Durant. She was born on August 17, 1929, in Marietta, Oklahoma, to the late George R. Walker and Pearl G. Patton Walker. Wanda was raised in Marietta where she attended school and later moved to Oklahoma City. She owned a restaurant for several years in downtown Oklahoma City where she met Ray Clark, an Oklahoma City police officer and subsequently married him on October 12, 1963. They both worked at Tinker Field until their retirements in 1968 at which time they moved to Buncombe Creek on Lake Texoma. Throughout her marriage to Ray they traveled extensively to participate in Shriner activities, fundraising and helping many individuals. Wanda spent her life serving the public and assisting others. Ray preceded her in death on December 30, 1994 and Wanda continued to live at Buncombe Creek until her health began to decline in the past few years. She was a very outgoing person who enjoyed her life with Ray, spending time with daughter Donna Sue, her family and Buncombe Creek friends. Wanda was a member of the Red Hat Society, Ladies Auxiliary and the Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and driving fast.
