Alva Chesley Sevedge, son of William and Victoria Sevedge, was born near Tyrone, Missouri May 19, 1898. He died at his home near Eunice February 16, 1962, making his age at time of death 63 years, 8 months and 27 days.

In May 1933 he was married to Essie Midget. To this union eight children were born, Wanda Garrett and Mildred Smith of Longmont, Colo.; Vivian Miller, Springfield; Gladys LaVan, Kansas City Mo. Donnie, Boulder, Colo.; Carol, Springfield; Gary of the home and an infant son who preceded him in death.

He was converted at the Glad Tidings Church in September 1961.

Alva has been in failing health for the past two years, but had not been confined to his home. He became ill shortly after midnight and passed away at 3:25 a.m. Friday.

He is survived by his children two sisters, Alice Hostetter, Willow Springs, Geneva White Tyrone, three half sisters Maude Brown, Cabool, Opal Bowen, Atcheson, Kans.,Nellie Branson, St. Louis, three half brothers, Tom Smith Licking; Roy and Floy Smith Eunice; 17 grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday February 18, at the Big Creek Church, with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial was in the Big Creek cemetery. Under direction of the Evans Funeral Home.
