CONFEDERATE VETERAN DIES IN HATTIESBURG

HATTIESBURG, Sept. 30 Special - John Andrew Selers [sic], aged 88, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs, M. J. Jones In Moselle, Miss., Tuesday morning at 11:20 o'clock.

He In survived by eight sons, John Sellers, of Brooklyn; J. F. Sellers, of Delphi, La.; B. D., W. E. and W. G. Sellers, of Moselle; S. T. and A. T. Sellers of Hattiesburg, and J. N. Sellers of Janis, Miss.; and five daughters, Mrs. M. J. Jones and Mrs. B. A. Merritt of Moselle; Miss B. E. Sellers of Moselle; Mrs. B. M. Finley of Hattiesburg; and Mrs. M. E. Jones of Breckenridge, Texas.

Mr. Sellers was a lifelong resident of the community in which he died. He saw four years of active service in the Civil War. In all of his 88 years he was never engaged in a lawsuit. He was widely known and had a host of friends. He was an extremely active farmer until poor health forced him to quit work.

Interment was in the family cemetery near the old home place at Moselle Wednesday afternoon at five o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. W. Austin, of Ellisville, and Rev. J. A. Merrit, of Moselle.
