Brenda, 58, of Lufkin, daughter of the late Ernest and Dubie (Sanford) Scogin, passed away in a local hospital.

She loved being with her grandchildren and she enjoyed singing in church.

Survivors include her husband, John; children, Stacy Hammer; John Cheney and wife Amy; Robert Cheney; and Shannon Cheney; ten siblings; eighteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Shelly Cheney.

Funeral services at Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel. Interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs.
