Adam Schaffer, born 1901 in Russia, was the son of Gottleib and Elizabeth Schaffer. He and his family had been living Michaelsdorf, North Caucasus, Russia up until the time they immigrated to the US. Adam was only 5 months old when the departed on 3 Nov 1901 from Hamburg to Ellis Island on the SS Patricia, arriving Nov 18, 1901. His family first settled in Madison County Nebraska, and then moved to Colorado on April 8, 1908, according to his father's Petition for Naturalization filed in Weld County Colorado.

Adam married Myrtle Elizabeth Frank on Nov 13th 1930, in Loveland, Larimer, Colorado. Myrtle (26 Aug 1904 - 15 Aug 1966) was the daughter of Elizabeth M and Jacob Frank.

Adam passed away in Erie Colorado 31 Dec 1953.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Schreiner Mortuary for Adam Schaffer, age 52, who died at his home in Erie early Thursday morning. Rev. O.L. Grauberger conducted the services and burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Music was by Mrs. Ross Haworth and Miss Lois Taylor. Escorts were Halley Carroll, John Horst, Jake Wagner, John Ostermiller, Carl Frank, and Jake Schwindt.

The Schaffer family lived in the Berthoud Community until five years ago when they moved to Erie. Mr. Schaffer was born in Russia May 13, 1901, and came to the United States when less than a year of age. At the age of seven he moved to the Evans Community from Norfolk, Neb. On Nov 13, 1930 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Frank at Loveland.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Frank, of Erie; ... one brother, John Schaffer of Denver; one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Martindale of Cheyenne, Wyo., and one grandchild.
