Lucille Rouse Dowell, age 78 passed away Thursday April 6, 2006 in the Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. She was born in Washington, Co. Virginia to the late James W. & Maggie Denny Rouse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Iris Dowell, one brother, Oscar Rouse and a sister Shirley Rouse. She was a hairdresser and a lifetime member of the Marion Lifesaving Crew Ladies Auxillary. She had faithfully attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include: One Son: Roger Dowell, Morristown, TN Five Daughters: Lois Gwin & husband Bradley, Marion Wanda Dowell, Marion Sharon Gregory & husband George, Limestone, TN Donna Stanley & husband Cliff, Glade Spring, VA Maria Fisher & husband Greg, Greensboro, NC Two Brothers: Johnny D. Rouse, Chilhowie, VA Blaine Rouse, Chilhowie, VA Three Sisters: Connie Blevins, Marion Geneva Buckett, Middletown, CA Colene Barnett, Chilhowie, VA Ten Grandchildren: Myrna, Marty, Michelle, Johnny, Michael, Dean, Mark, Roger, Jeremy, Jamie Seven Great Grandchildren: Adriane, Nathan, Tonya, Faith, Hope, Marcus, Madison One Great Great Grandchild: Nolan.
Funeral services will be held at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Lundy officiating. Interment will follow in the Grosses Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion is serving the family.
