Hays -- Raymond Ross, 79, Hays, died Thursday, March 4, 1993, at the St. John's of Victoria Nursing Home. Mr. Ross was born Aug. 25, 1913, at Hyacinth and was a lifelong resident of the Hays area.

He was a retired farmer-rancher and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of the home; a son, James of Newton; a daughter, Virginia Pfeifer of Hill City; a brother, Walter of Hays; three sisters, Sister Aletta Ross of Fond du Lac, Wis., Charlotte Dinges of Hays and Thelma Aryan of Milwaukee; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, the Rev. Paulinus Karlin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A vigil will be at 8 p.m. today at the Hays Memorial Chapel.

Memorials may be made to St. John's of Victoria Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and after noon Saturday at the funeral home, 20th and Pine, Hays, 67601..
