The gravestone for Maria (Mary) Rosa Babkirk at Holy Cross Cemetery stone says 1866 - 1914, however our other records indicate that she was born in 1867. Her Husband, David P. Babkirk was cremated at Cypress Lawn Cemetery and his ashes were taken by Norman Babkirk in 1939 to be scattered at sea.

Also of this family, buried at Holy Cross Cemetery is Fernand, Lowell, Juanita (Grandchildren of Mary Rosa Babkirk) & children of Edythe Babkirk - Sinclair. Juanita (sister to Fern & Lowell) and Edythe Babkirk Sinclair, mother to all three are buried here. There is no marker or acknowledgement on the stone for Edythe or Juanita, however they are recorded at the cemetery as being buried in the same plot.

The Mt. Calvary Mound gravesite in Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma CA. site contains the remains of 39,000 people who were removed from Calvary Cemetery in San Francisco in 1940, and reburied here. Mary Rosa Babkirk's mother, Abbie Madden Rosa (of Castlefreke Ireland/San Francisco) and the siblings of Mary: Thomas Jefferson Rosa, Amelia Rosa, Abbey Rosa (1 day), Elizabeth Annie Rosa, Anna Rosa are buried together in this location. It is unknown at this date where Mary's (Marias) father, Joseph Rosa, (from St. George in the Azores) who was a barber in San Francisco from 1866 - 1892 or 93 is buried.
