Mrs. Vuena Robinson Lancaster, 84, of Supply died Monday, June 19, 2006, at Brunswick Community Hospital.
Mrs. Lancaster was born in Brunswick County on November 3, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Melissa Ellen Hewett Robinson.
She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, a member of the senior adult Sunday school class and the Mt. Pisgah Widows Fellowship Group. She was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, Taft Robinson, Vance Robinson, John Boyd Robinson, Zettie Simmons, Curtie Thompson and Leatha Caison. Mrs. Lancaster was the wife of the late John Newnam Lancaster Jr.
She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Ann Barnes of Supply and Lou Ellen White and husband Junior of Supply; three grandchildren, Benita Barnes, David Barnes, and Greg White, all of Supply; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Barnes, Sara Barnes, Isaac Barnes, Dalton Hernandez, C. J. Hernandez, Jordan Hernandez and Barry Chadwick; a brother, Elroy Robinson; three sisters, Arlene Norris, Novie Galloway and Odelia Long, all of Supply.
Funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Hicks officiating. Burial followed in the Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Barnes, Barry Chadwick, Robert J. Robinson, Tim Stone, Bill Brown and Waddell Clemmons. Honorary pallbearers were Edsell Norris, Linwood Brown, Freddie Fulford, Dink Ward, Ronnie Hernandez and members of the senior adult Sunday school class.
