SUPPLY -- Odelia Robinson Long, 91, of Supply, died Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Long was born May 26, 1919, in Brunswick County, daughter of the late Louis N. Robinson and Melissa Hewitt Robinson. She was a hard worker who loved gardening. Mrs. Long and her husband made their living in the river oystering and shrimping. They were the owners of the grocery store in Varnamtown for many years. Mrs. Long was a mentor for the whole family. She was also a member of Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband Adrian Lee Long who died in 1987, three brothers Vance Robinson, Taft Robinson, and John B. Robinson, five sisters Zettie Simmons, Lillie Galloway, Vuena Lancaster, Curtie Thompson, and Letha Caison and one great-great-grandchild Hannah Carmichael.

Survivors include one daughter Francis Etheridge and husband Bailey of Wake Forest; one brother Elroy Robinson and wife Etha Mae of Varnamtown; two sisters Novie Galloway and Arlene Norris of Varnamtown; two grandchildren Sandra Willetts and husband Terry of Ocean Isle Beach and Randy Etheridge and wife Melissa of Wake Forest; four great-grandchildren Heather Tharp and husband Chuck of Supply, Heath Dosher and wife Alison of Varnamtown, Emily Etheridge of Wake Forest and Scott Etheridge of Wake Forest; three great-great-grandchildren Bailey Carmichael, Casey Tharp, and Brennan Dosher.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 3:00 pm at Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Landis Lancaster and Reverend Gerald Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Dixon Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
