Catherine Caroline Robertson was born October 19, 1845, in Burns Valley, Franklin County, Pa., where she grew to young womanhood. She died in her home in Clarinda, Iowa on July 16, 1928, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 27 days.

On June 23, 1863, she was united in marriage with William Joseph Anderson of McCullis Mills, Juaniata County, Pennsylvania. This union was not broken until Jun 16, 1903 at which time the husband preceded her in death.

Eleven children were born to Mr and Mrs Anderson, two of whom having died before their mother, Mrs G.E. Nevins, January 15, 1923, and Mrs F.L. Williams, August 4, 1926.

Nine children remain to mourn the passing of their mother, four sons and five daughters, J.W. and W.O. Anderson of New Market, Iowa, and J.R. and J.W. Anderson of Clarinda, Iowa; Mrs C.H. Payton of Boise, Idaho, Mrs F.A. Hultgren of Stonsberg, Nebraska, Mrs D.B. Hoffman of Clarinda, Iowa, Mrs A.J. Woodyard of Gravity, Ia, and Mrs G.E. Hutt of Evanston, Wyoming. She also leaves one sister Mrs M.A. McDowell of Harrisburg, Pa, and three brothers, James and Norton Robertson of Chambersburg, Pa, and Ezra Robertson of Des Moines, Iowa.

Mrs Anderson spent the greater part of her life in Iowa having come with her husband and family to this state in 1875, settling on a farm in Page County near Clarinda.

While yet a child, she united with the United Presbyterian church of Concord, Pa. After moving to Clarinda she with her husband united with the Presbyterian church, continuing a faithful member until death, and active in church so long as health permitted.

Thus closes the earthly life of another one who helped to build this country, and to give to it its ideals.

Funeral services were held from the late home on West Stuart St Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Dr A.B. Thutt, Presbyterian pastor. Mrs Forrest Davidson sang several hymns. Interment was in Clarinda Cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Jul 19, 1928
