Mrs. Virginia Bell Horton, 85, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bell Ball, Raven, Friday afternoon.

Mrs. Horton was born in Russell County, the daughter of the late Christopher and Amanda Richardson. Her husband, Albert Horton, preceded her in death 44 years ago.

Survivors are: one son, Christopher Horton, Shorts Gap, Va.; five daughters, Mrs. Etta Ball, Raven, Mrs. Mary Sisk, Swords Creek, Mrs. Toy Wilson, Mrs. Bell Ball and Mrs. Maude Wilson, all of Raven;

Also surviving are forty-nine grandchildren, one hundred and five great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.
