Mr. Rea was a well-known farmer of Andrew county, and lived on the farm most of his life. A portion of the farm which he owned at the time of his death was homesteaded by his grandfather in 1842. He was president of the Andrew County Bank of Savannah for about two years and was for several years associated with Booher & Williams in the real estate department. A year ago last September he moved back to the farm and had been in ill health several months.

Joseph L. Rea, son of David A. and Nancy Elizabeth Rea, was born February 18, 1859, and passed away December 15, 1932, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 27 days. He was born on a farm one mile west of Rea and was one of a family of six, of whom two survive. On October 2, 1881, he was married Miss Anna Matilda Weber of Liberty, who passed away August 16, 1921. Three children were born to this union as follows: Emma, now Mrs. Ed Pattisson; David Samuel, who died when six years of age; and Edith, now Mrs. Oren Stanton of Savannah.
