"Services were conducted for Edith Irene Stanton at the Savannah Christian Church on March 3 by Rev. Cecil Swinehart and Rev. O. H. Loomis, with burial in the Savannah cemetery by the Breit Funeral Home.

Edith Irene Stanton, daughter of Joseph L. and Anna Matilda Rea, was born July 10, 1890, near Rea, Mo., and died Feb. 28, 1957, at a St Joseph hospital at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 18 days. Her entire life was lived on the farm northwest of town. Her decease was rather sudden and unexpected by the family, caused by a severe heart attack.

Surviving are her husband, Oren; one daughter, Mrs. Lester Bowman, and one son, J. W. Bowman, both of Savannah; one sister, Mrs. Emma Pattisson of Bolckow; and five grandchildren." Savannah Reporter and Andrew County Democrat (Savannah, Missouri), March 8, 1957
