MRS. PRITCHARD SUCCUMBS HERE

Niece of Late Mrs. J. L. Nelson Expires; Was Ill Long Time

Mrs. Ella Pritchard, 76, died at the home of Dr. T. A. Mitchell, 3502 DeSiard road, Sunday at 10 p.m. after a lingering illness. The funeral will be held at the Mulhearn funeral home, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rev. L. T. Hastings, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate and interment will be made in the old city cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Dick Pritchard, Ben Downing, Sr., Clark Faulk, V. C. Vasses, Charles Easterling, James Sparks, Charles Bynum, Jr., and Mr. Mills.

Mrs. Prichard was a native of Monroe, having been born here 76 years ago. She spent her entire life here. Her family was one of the leading ones of the city.

She was a niece of the late Mrs. J. L. Nelson, with whom she resided for many years at the Nelson residence at 114 Jackson street After the death of Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Pritchard went to reside in the home of Dr. Tom Mitchell, where her death occurred after a lingering illness.


Married D. M. Prichard on January 14, 1895 in Ouachita Parish.

She leaves a son by a former marriage, Jerome Milton of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Bird of Memphis, Tenn. and Mrs. Willie Benoit of Shreveport. She also leaves four grandnieces, all residing in Monroe, who are Mrs. R. C. Sparks, Sr., Mrs. B. D. Hodges, Mrs. Gillette Towell and Mrs. Alice Briggs.
