Rites Monday For County Native, 77
Mrs. Anna k. Pond, 77, Fairland, widow of Albert L. Pond and a Shelby County native, died at the home of a niece, Mrs. Ray Miller, 6022 Crittenden Ave., Indianapolis, at 3:48 a.m. today.
She had been at the niece's home for the past six weeks.
Mrs. Pond was a lifelong resident of Shelby County and the Fairland community.
She was born in the county Oct. 30, 1882, a daughter of Henry and Catherine Schwall. Mrs. Pond was a member of the Fairland Methodist Church and the Fairland OES Chapter.
Surviving are two stepchildren, Mrs. Lova Huber of Shelbyville and William Pond of Birmingham, Mich.; three nieces and nephews; three step-grandchildren and three step- great-grandchildren. Mr. Pond died Jan. 16, 1955.
Funeral services will be held at the Sleeth Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Robert Chafee officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Sunday.
