He and Mrs. Pond had wintered at their Vero Beach home for the past 36 years.
The son of William and Caroline(Larimore)Pond, he was born in Marion Township on February 24, 1869, and had spent most of his life in Shelby County.
He was a member of the Fairland Methodist Church, Shelby Lodge No. 28, F. & A.M., and the Shrine in Indianapolis.
He first was married to Lillian Bass whose death occurred in 1911. He later was married to Anna Schwall who survives with two children, Mrs. Lova Huber of Fairland and William B. Pond of Royal Oak, Mich. Also surviving are four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one brother, Oscar L. Pond of Indianapolis.
The body will arrive here Wednesday afternoon and rites will be held at the Sleeth Funeral Home Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Chafee officiating.
Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
