A memorial service to honor her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Lockney.

Christine was born in Brownfield on Nov. 25, 1926, to William Richard "Dick" and Maurine McDuffie. Christine grew up in Brownfield and graduated high school in 1944. After high school, Christine attended Texas Tech University and married Richard Patterson of Lockney in 1947. She worked as a teller in the First National Bank of Lubbock. The couple soon moved to Lockney (Richard's home town) where they joined the family business. They raised three sons and were members of First United Methodist Church. Later in life, Richard and Christine returned to Texas Tech, completed their respective degrees, and moved to San Antonio in 1970. There, Christine attended St. Mary's School of Social Work, earning an M.S.W. degree and working as a psychiatric social worker. Following Richard's and her son Kenneth's deaths in 1975 and 1977, Christine returned to Lubbock where she resided until very recently.

She is survived by the following: a brother, the Rev. Richard McDuffie, his wife, Nancy, of Lexington, Ky., and their children, Will and Kathleen; two sons, David Patterson and his wife, Laura, of Lockney and Mark Patterson and his wife, Rene of Dallas. Through Mark she also is survived by two grandsons, Kent and Andrew.

Christine is remembered for being a devoted daughter, wife, mother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to a favorite charity in honor of Christine Patterson. Online condolences may be made at www.moore-rose.com
