Mary B. Asbury, 81, Lafayette, died Friday morning at Regency Place in Lafayette. She was the daughter of Fred and Lena Eva (Hoover) Parker. A 1937 graduate of Bellmore High School, she worked as a kindergarten teacher's assistant in Rockville. She was a member of the Blue Bird society, a volunteer for the JR Heart Association, and worked as a sorority house mother at Purdue, DePauw and Butler universities. Survivors include a son, Phillip Asbury and wife Donna, North Potomac, Md.; two daughters, Sandy Beale and husband Charles David, Delphi, and Judy Stoops and husband Jack, Sun City Center, Fla; a brother, Thomas Parker and wife Inez, Bainbridge; and two sisters, Mayme Thomas and husband Robert E., San Antonio, Texas, and Emma Dickerson, West Virginia; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her parents, four brothers, and five sisters preceded her in death.
