Born April 29, 1917 in Harrison, Ohio, he was the son of Fred T. and Lena (Hoover) Parker and was a graduate of Union Township Schools in Parke County "Class of 1936." He married Inez A. Morlan on July 1, 1939 and she preceded him in death.
Tom had been a lifelong farmer. He had also worked at Delco Remy in Anderson and Bryant & Poff in Coatesville. Tom sold vegetables and strawberries at his farm and had people drive from all over to look at his beautiful flower gardens.
He is survived by his children, Janet Ellen (Don) Snyder of Bloomington, Thomas D. (Carol) Parker, Jr. of Spencer, Larry (Marilyn) Parker of Greencastle, Mary Ann Trackwell of Bowling Green, and Fred (Janis) Parker of Unionville; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 11 brothers and sisters; a granddaughter, Cathy Jo Parker; and a son-in-law, Fred Trackwell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Michael Wren officiating. Interment will follow at the Brick Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the funeral home.
