Frances "Fran" Berget, age 76, of Wiota, WI, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 2, 1937 in Wiota Township, WI, the daughter of Magnus and Emma (Rowley) Ostby. Fran was united in marriage to Olgar Hanson on July 5, 1952 in Blanchardville, WI. She later married Vernon Berget on October 5, 1973 in Argyle, WI. Fran lived most of her live in Argyle, where she farmed and owned and operated Fran's Upholstery from 1976 until 2009.

Fran is survived by five children: Herbert (Bev) Hanson of Monroe, WI, Robert (Patt) Chambers-Hanson of Monroe, Steven (Lois) Hanson of Browntown, WI, Laura Hanson of Argyle, and Virginia (Ray) Johnson of Wiota; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister: Verna Mae Smith of Monroe; and one brother: Harlow Rowley of Wiota. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband: Olgar; her second husband: Vernon; two grandchildren: Eric Hanson and Dan Hanson; one brother: Homer Ostby; and one brother-in-law: Glenn "Butch" Smith.

Fran was a member of Apple Grove Lutheran Church and its Women of ELCA. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, traveling, and, dancing. Fran also enjoyed her work, everything from upholstery to wallpapering.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Apple Grove Lutheran Church, 14501 Apple Grove Church Road in rural Argyle with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Apple Grove Cemetery in rural Argyle. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Erickson Funeral Home, 801 E. Milwaukee St. in Argyle.
