Argyle- Magnus Ostby, 73, died Thursday (June 1, 1972) at Postville of an apparent heart attack. He came to the United States from Norway in 1905. He married Emma Ostby in 1932. He was a farm laborer in the area.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Homer, Rock City, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Smith, New Glarus; and Mrs. Frances Hanson, Monroe; a foster son, Harlow Rowley, Argyle; five brothers, Magne, Lloyd and Victor, all of Argyle; Clarence, Monroe, and Clayton, Darlington; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Rowley, Mifflin; and Mrs. Clifford Hawkson, Gratiot; nine granchildren; and two great grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2:30 pm Sunday in the Erickson Funeral Home, where friends may call after 3 pm today.
