Berma Alice Chlarson Orme, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Brigham City Nursing and Rehab.She was born on July 18, 1918 in Honeyville, Utah, a daughter of Lyman Edward and LaVoy Matilda Hunsaker Chlarson. She married Herbert Emery Orme on January 31, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple.
She served in the Primary and Mutual presidencies and the Relief Society president for eight years, the ward organist for 48 years and Gospel Doctrine teacher for 10 years and was active in the Family History and Name Extraction Program. Berma accompanied choirs and many individuals over the years. Before marriage, Berma graduated from Box Elder High School and attended BYU and LDS Business College. She worked in the office of Farmers Cash Union in Tremonton, Utah.
Her hands were always busy as she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, tatting, playing the piano and organ. She also enjoyed classical music and traveling in Europe.
She is survived by her husband, Herbert E. Orme, Honeyville; one son, H. Paul Orme, Honeyville; one daughter, Bonnie (Roger) Spackman, Robertson, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Toni (Quinn) Martin, Tami Spackman, Chad (Stephanie) Spackman and five great grandchildren; two brothers, Cecil (Lucille) Chlarson, Logan; Quinn (Anne) Chlarson, Ephrata, WA., two sisters, Joyce C. Frisby, Salt Lake City; Uleah C. (Bryce) Flamm, South Ogden; one sister-in-law, Ruth H. Chlarson, Honeyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Varsel Chlarson, two sisters, Ila C. Rasmussen and Rae C. Burt and one grandson, Scott Spackman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Honeyville 3rd Ward Chapel, 2620 W. 6800 N. Family will greet friends on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E. 200 S., Brigham City and on Friday at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Honeyville Cemetery.
