Dennis B. Nowells [sic]
Dennis B. Nowells [sic], 92, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Town and Country Nursing Home, where he had resided since July 17. He was a resident of Huntington since 1920 and had resided at the Huntington Hotel for 17 years. He was a custodian in the school system for 20 years, most of that time at Huntington High School before retiring in 1957.
Mr. Nowels was born April 17, 1878, in Noble county to William and Mahala Underwood Nowels. His marriage was to Millie O. Altimus Oct. 24, 1905. She preceded him in death Sept. 7, 1944. He was a member of the Central Christian Church.
Surviving are three daughters. Mrs. Ed (Gladys) Solloway, Mrs. Earnest (Zelma) Greider, and Mrs. Lee (Marie) Burchett, all of Huntington; three sons, Herbert, and Glenn, of Huntington, and Wallace, of Fort Wayne; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Deceased are a son Herman, three grandchildren, two brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Bailey Mortuary, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel, with Rev. David A. Rowand officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
