Gladys A. Elliott, 91, of 1500 1st Avenue in Coralville, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City with Reverend Paul Akin officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or a charity of one's choice.

Gladys was born November 4, 1912 in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Shirley LeRoy & Margaret J. (McClelland) Norris. She married James E. Elliott Jr. September 21, 1946 in Iowa City. Gladys graduated from Iowa City High School.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Iowa Federated Women's Club and had served as past-president of The Red Hat Club.

Survivors include a son, James "Ed" Elliott & his wife Dela; two grandchildren, Jamie Elliott & his wife Jeano of Coralville and Jennifer Elliott of Iowa City; six great-grandchildren, Madison, Elizabeth, A.J., Meika Adele, Emma Rose and Trevor and a sister, Laurine Ralston of Iowa City.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Willard & Warren and three sisters, Blanche Detweiler, Bessie Wren & Ruth Norton.
