Janette A. Mills, 78, of Peru passed away at 10:42 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at Dukes Hospital.
She was born April 9, 1933 in Peru, to Ralph and Pearl (Bishop) Wilson, deceased. On Oct. 3, 1952 she married Frank L. Mills, who preceded her in death June 21, 2011. Janette attended St. Charles Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association.
Janette worked for Sherrill Corporation for 25 years, and then was secretary for the Board of Works, City of Peru, until her retirement.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorna Mills and companion Pat Buffington, Peru; a son, Michael Mills also of Peru; four grandchildren, Joshua (Nicole) Mills, Elizabeth, Ind.; Frank Mills, Franklin, Tenn.; Samuel Mills, Franklin, Tenn.; Grace Mills, Franklin, Tenn.; and a great-grandson, Lucas Michael Mills of Elizabeth, Ind. She is also survived by three sisters, Marilyn Sischo, Norma Wolfe, and Alice Amos, all of Peru.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third St., Peru, with the Rev. Francis Kilcline officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru.
