She was married to Curtis Claude Amick and had three children, John Curtis Amick, Cynthia Claudette Amick and Carolyn Sylvia Amick.
She became a Registered Nurse after completing nurses training at the Baptist Hospital in Columbia, S.C. She loved gospel and country music. She sang, played the guitar and the piano. She died while living in Naples, Italy.
