Mrs. Mary Alice Hendricks, 79, died Thursday in Bulloch Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late M.B. Hendricks Jr., a life-long resident of Statesboro and was employed by H. Minkovitz and Sons Department Store until her retirement. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Mary Phillips, Statesboro; a brother, A.B. McDougald Sr., Statesboro; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Hendricks will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Smith-Tillman Mortuary. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. The body will remain in the mortuary chapel until the funeral hour. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to the First Presbyterian Church building fund. Smith-Tillman Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
