SHELBY - Mrs. Pauline Mauney Greene, 82, died Sunday, March 03, 2002, at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Winslow Mauney. A retired nursing assistant, she worked at Cleveland Regional Medical Center and at Turner's Nursing Home. She belonged to Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman W. Greene; a daughter, Patsy Dyer; a son-in-law, T.C. Preslar; two brothers, Joe Mauney and Leo Mauney; and a sister-in-law, Onell Mauney. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn Greene Preslar of Norwood and Janet Greene and Thomas Ledbetter of Shelby; two brothers and sisters-in-law, the Rev. Bynum and Lona Mauney of Fayetteville and Arthur and Carolyn Mauney of Shelby; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lois and Garland Pruitt of Cherryville, Edith and Samuel Lawing of Forest City and Dorothy Pitman of Shelby; a sister-in-law, Lois Mooney of High Point; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
