Bynum William Mauney, 87, of Spartanburg, SC died Friday, September 28, 2018 in Spartanburg Medical Center.

Born April 4, 1931 in Shelby, NC, son of the late Charles Winslow and Fannie Deadmon Mauney.

U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran (Retired), also retired from Terry Sanford High School of Fayetteville, NC, where he was the Air Force ROTC Instructor; retired Baptist Minister and a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Lona McConnell Mauney; children, Michael H. Mauney of Spartanburg, Karen (Eddie) Garrett of Spartanburg, and Charles (Dianne) Mauney of Inman; grandchildren, Charles D. Mauney, Eric (Nicole) Cochran, Will Garrett, Chris Mauney, David (Cassandra) Mauney; great grandchildren, Mason Garrett, Lilly Cochran and Abby Cochran; sister, Edith Mauney Lawson of Bostic, NC; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is also predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation was 12:00 – 1:45 PM, Monday, October 1, 2018 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

Funeral service was 2:00 PM at the chapel, with full military rites administered by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, conducted by The Rev. Brandon Grigg, Mr. Jim Waugerman and Mr. Gary Williams. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Eastside Baptist Church, Church Base Mission Trips, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
