Aged 54y; died in Los Angeles, CA., while visiting there for 2 months. Prominent Springfield business man, connected with the Simmons Hardware Co of St. Louis as a traveling salesman. Survived by wife Mrs. Mabel Wohlgemuth Lubbe and sons Edward and George.

Note: his wife Mabel Wohlgemuth was first married to Stanley Arnold and after the death of 2nd husband Henry Lubbe, she married E. P. Wing. Husbands Arnold and Lubbe are buried in the Wohlgemuth Plot. No known place of burial for Mabel at this time.

Mr. Lubbe was born in Quincy May 26, 1856, the oldest son of Mrs. Catherine and the late Bernard Lubbe. Here he grew to manhood, and embarked in business for himself, having been for many years in the dry goods business. He was married on Oct. 18, 1884, to Miss Mamie Wolf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wolf, of Louisville Kentucky, and to this union there were born four children: a daughter Marie who died in infancy; and three sons: George Wolf Lubbe, Henry Albert Lubbe, and Edward Lubbe. The mother died Nov. 16, 1896, and is buried in St. Boniface cemetery.

June 18, 1902, Mr. Lubbe was united in marriage to Mrs. Mabelle Wohlgemuth Arnold, of Springfield, the only daughter of Dr. Henry Wohlgemuth, the celebrated physician of Springfield.
