Married William Clyde Addlesberger, December 23, 1940 at Hagerstown, Washington County, MD. - United Brethren Church.
Mrs. Mae J. (Lesher) Addlesberger, 82, a resident of Michaux Manor Living Center, South Mountain, PA and formerly of 11969 Old Forge Road, Waynesboro, PA, died at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2004, in the center. She had been in failing health for the last year and critically ill for the past two weeks.
Born July 18, 1921, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late John and Fannie (Davis) Lesher. She lived all her life in the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Addlesberger attended Waynesboro schools.
She and her husband, the late William C. "Bill" Addlesberger, were married on December 23, 1940, in the United Brethren Church in Hagerstown, MD. They moved to the Old Forge Road address in 1971. Mr. Addlesberger died on April 29, 2002. Mrs. Addlesberger entered Michaux Manor Living Center on March 1, 2004.
Mrs. Addlesberger was a piece-worker for Stanley Company and Butte Knitting Company, both of Chambersburg, PA. She was also a housekeeper at the Anthony Wayne Hotel in Waynesboro and did seasonal work in the local orchards.
Mrs. Addlesberger was a member of Refuge Tabernacle, Zullinger.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia V. Gitchell, Palmer, AK, and Brenda Ann Mentzer, Waynesboro; one son, Robert E. Addlesberger, Thornton, CO; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, William Carl Addlesberger; one sister, Geraldine Stotler; and one brother, Harry Lesher.
Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, April 30, 2004, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Christy K. Stouffer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Quincy, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday in the funeral home.
