“MRS. NANCY KERN, AGED CITIZEN, DIES
Has been Ill For Several Weeks – Celebrated Ninety-First Birthday Recently.

Blessed with unusual length of life, far beyond that allotted by the Psalmist, Mrs. Nancy Ellen Kern, entered into rest at the home of her son, F. B. Kern, 817 North Third street on Tuesday at 2:10 p.m., aged 91 years, on June 6, 1925. Her death followed an illness of several weeks due to a complication of ailments, incident to her advanced years.

She was born in Mineral County, W.Va., and was the daughter of Daniel and Nancy L. Leatherman.

These children survive a devoted and loving mother: F. B. and E. H. Kern, of this city; W. D. and C. M. Kern of Piedmont; Mrs. Julia Coleman of Cleveland; also a sister, Mrs. Mary E. Jenny aged 99 years at Martinsville, Illinois.

The deceased was a member of the M. E. Church at Piedmont, W.Va., and an earnest Christian woman who was held in high esteem by many friends who will regret her death. Her remains will be taken on Thursday to Piedmont, for services and interment there.”
