Roberta J. Ace, 72, of East Stroudsburg, died Wednesday morning, August 1, at the VNA Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Robert S. Ace with whom she shared 39 years of marriage on July 5.

Born on May 13, 1935 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of Margaret M. (VanWhy) LaBadie, a resident of Old Orchard Nursing Home in Easton and the late Herbert LaBar.

A lifetime resident of Monroe County, Roberta worked at Pleasant Valley Manor, Drackett Corporation, Shawnee Press and Five Star Printing.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by four sons, Richard Gilliland, of Granville Summit, Michael Gilliland, of Effort, Charles Gilliland, of Marshalls Creek and Brian Ace, of Stroudsburg; a step-son, Robert Ace, Jr., of Wind Gap; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; five sisters, Betty Lou Carlson, of East Stroudsburg, Leanna Shoemaker, of Merles Inlet, SC, Linda George, of East Stroudsburg, Elaine Paragino, of Stroudsburg and Debra Bush, of East Stroudsburg; two brothers, Peter LaBar and Christian LaBadie, both of East Stroudsburg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas Gilliland.

Burial in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
