Lona Kirkpatrick Greene, 83, of 127 Hilltop Drive, died Sunday, Aug 27, 1995, at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Joseph N. and Amanda Rector Kirkpatrick. She was retired from the Haywood County School system.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Greene. She was a member of Ratcliffe Cove Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Hooper Greene; two daughters, Vivian Kelley of Waynesville, and Louise Nanney of Morristown, Tenn; one sister, Sue Reece of Waynesville; one brother, Jim Kirkpatrick of Fines Creek; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home, Waynesville. The Revs Mike Cobb and WO Henson will officiate. Burial will be in Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Phil and Ed Kelley, Lawrence Davis, David Smith, Troy Justice and Doug Edwards. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Monday at the funeral home.
