Mary was the second wife of Van (Mobley) Curvey. She was the daughter of She was the daughter of Ase Johnson (Grapeland) and Diana Sheridan(Augusta).She was educated in Houston County schools.

Joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church Grapeland, Texas and later Brewington Baptist Church.

She was a great step mom to the children of Mobley. She taught them to cook and sew and how to be ladies and gentlemen.
