Son of Harry Martin and Chloe Mae Fluharty Irvin. A 1951 graduate of Pine Grove High School, he also attended McKendree Law School. He enlisted in the USAF and served from January 1951 to March 1971. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He was employed as a supervisor for Rolls-Royce Aircraft Engines for 15 years, retiring in September of 1987.
Pallbearers were Mark Corbin, Randy Corbin Russell Bednark, Joe Harold Miller and Charlie Corbin.
