William Henry "Bill" Immesoete

Funeral services were held for William Henry "Bill" Immesoete, age 89, was held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday March 20, at the East Gate Baptist Church in Torrington with Pastor Orville Emery officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. He died on Saturday, March 16 at the Torrington Community Hospital. Visitation hours were held at the Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the casket will be open at the church service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions in Bill's honor be directed to the Torrington Ambulance Service. The Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington is in charge of arrangements.He was born January 13, 1913 on the family homestead in Sioux County, Nebraska, the son of Henry and Edna (Burns) Immesoete. Bill began his formal education in Lusk, and completed his education at a small country school near his family ranch south of Van Tassell in Northern Goshen County.He married Helen Renz of Lusk on April 5, 1942 in Harrison, Neb. Bill and Helen then owned and operated the Van Tassell ranch properties.Bill had his hand in many things, including his own metal shop where he built his own hay stacker and hay sweepers, post-hole digger, and drill press. He studied electricity, first building wind charger units at the family ranch and later wiring his own neighbors' houses when electricity came to the community.He worked on telegraph lines from Ft. Laramie to Wheatland and worked in the oil patch in Lance Creek. He drove a school bus for Prairie Center School District and worked in the Kilmer Creamery in Lusk and the Torrington sugar factory during the processing season. Bill was an active and viable member of the Van Tassell and surrounding communities. He was also fond of playing billiards and pinochle.He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Janet Bell of Casper; and Cheryl King and her husband David of Gillette; a son Garrett Immesoete and his wife Cathy of Texas City, Texas and Worland, Wyoming; a sister Marie Lau of San Diego, Calif.; a brother Floyd Immesoete of Orange, Va.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.
