Floyd Burns lmmesoete, 94, of Orange, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at the Dogwood Village of Orange.

He was born November 27, 1914, in Sioux County, Nebraska, the son of the late F. Henry and M. Edna Orilla Burns Immesoete. His wife was the late Stella L. Kennedy Immesoete.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce L. De Groff of Orange; a granddaughter, Leslie Morrow and her husband, Thomas, of Manassas; a sister, Marie Lau of Jackson Georgia; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He grew up farming and ranching in Nebraska and Wyoming. He did many jobs in his lifetime, including working in the oil fields during and after World War II. He always said "He was a jack of all trades and master of none." His accomplishments belie that statement. He was an accomplished welder and draftsman, using those skills in building the homes, flowershop and greenhouse in Lusk wyoming in the late 40's and thoughout the 50's. When he retired from the oil business they lived in Arizona, later moving to Uvalde Texas. In 1999, after his wife of 60 years died, he came to Orange to be close to his family. He has made many friends since being in Orange. He also attended Trinity United Methodist Church.

He will be laid to to rest beside his wife Stella at Cold Springs Cemetery in Pringle, South Dakota, during a private service at a later date.
