Anna Mae (Hoover) Anderson, 77, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008.
She was born Jan. 18, 1931 in Newville, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Anna Mae (Fry) Hoover.
A 1949 graduate of Newville High School. Anna was employed by the Capitol Area Intermediate Unit in the payroll department, from which she retired. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Cumberland County Chapter of the PA Association of School Retirees.
She is survived by her companion, Harry E. Donson, with whom she loved to travel, especially to Spain. She is also survived by four sisters, Fay (and her husband, John) Sheaffer, Dorothy (and her husband, Marlin) Bloser, Mary Jane (and her husband, Harold) Boldosser and Joan (and her husband, Kenneth) Wagner, all of Carlisle; her brother, Donald (and his wife, Gladys) of McConnelsburg; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, who will affectionately miss her.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Chloe Watts and Shirley Kingsborough and two brothers, Lynn and Paul Hoover.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Louther St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Timothy Sadler officiating. Interment will be in Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle. There will be no viewing, but family will receive friends at the church in Stock Hall following internment.
