Arnell June Day Acker, 92, of Kendallville died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. in Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

Mrs. Acker was a homemaker.

She was a member of Eagles Lodge 985 Auxiliary and American Legion Post 86 Auxiliary.

She was born June 30, 1919, in Butler to Burton Wilford and Luella (Bowers) Hollinger. She married Charles William Day, and he preceded her in death. She then married Lester D. Acker, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2001.

Surviving are two sons, David William (Bonnie) Day of Stroh and Larry Day of Angola; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Moffat of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Janet Kieffer of Indianapolis.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elita Day on November 3, 2010; seven sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 8, 2011, at 2 p.m. in Young Family Funeral Home, Kendallville Chapel, 222 South State Street, Kendallville. Burial will be in Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola.

Calling will be Friday, July 8, 2011, from noon to 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Children's Village at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville.
