Funeral for Mrs. Emma L. McKnight, 72, longtime resident of Sweetwater, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Cate-Spencer Chapel.
Officiating will be the Rev. Darris Egger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, with burial in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Clifford Glass, Bill Pryor, Paul Cain, Claude Wilson, Lloyd McFadden and F. E. Healer.
Born Feb. 3, 1897 in Hillsboro, Mrs. McKnight died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday in Simmons Memorial Hospital. She came to Sweetwater in 1900 with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Hemby.
Mrs. McKnight married George F. McKnight in April of 1929 in Lawton, Okla., and the couple had lived in Galveston and Brownwood while Mr. McKnight was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad.
A member of First United Methodist Church, Mrs. McKnight had returned to Sweetwater in 1959. Mr. McKnight died March 4, 1960.
Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Ruby H. McDonald of Eastland; one brother, William F. Hemby of Sweetwater; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McKnight was a past president of the Sweetwater Business & Professional Women's Club and was the first secretary of the Sweetwater Federal Savings and Loan Association.
