MRS. HEMBY, 89, DIEST IN S'WATER

Sweetwater - Mrs. R. F. Hemby, 89, died at 4:45 p.m. Sunday at her home at 400 Bowie St., Sweetwater.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Cate-Spencer Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Marshall Rhew and Rev. Wayne Reed, both of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Sweetwater Cemetery.

Mrs. Hemby was born Louella Terry on Aug. 19, 1870 in Montgomery, Ala. She came to Texas with her parents at the age of 2-1/2 and settled in Robertson County. She was married on Aug. 31, 1893 in Hillsboro to Robert F. Hemby. He died in 1921. Mrs. Hemby was the oldest living member of the First Methodist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Miss Pearl Hemby, Mrs. George McKnight and Mrs. Garland L. Charles, all of Sweetwater, and Mrs. Ruby McDonald of Abilene; one son, William F. Hemby of Sweetwater; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
