Virgil E. Heater Sr., age 66, of Fairmount, IN, died Friday, September 20, 2013, at Marion General Hospital in Marion, IN. He was born on November 30, 1946 to the late Leon and Jean (Otto) Heater in Elwood, IN. He retired from Foster Forbes in Marion after thirty-five years of employment as a machine operator and in the maintenance department. He was married to Louise Hoheimer, Virgil loved spending time with his family, especially outdoor activities with his grandchildren. Together they enjoyed fishing as well as hunting for raccoon, deer, and rabbit. He also loved spending time with the members of the many ball teams over his forty years of being involved with softball, little league, and pony league. At different times Virgil served not only as a coach but also a board member and commissioner of the ball leagues. Virgil also loved God and was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Gas City, IN.

Tisha (Devin) Rodrigues, of Fort Wayne, IN

Two great-grandchildren:
Clay Heater and Evan Rodrigues

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main St Fairmount, IN. A candlelight service celebrating the life of Virgil will be held on Tuesday September 24, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Babe Ruth Diamond in Playacres Park, Fairmount, IN. The family asks that everyone attending bring a candle and their favorite memories of Virgil. Pastor Ron Snyder will be officiating.
