Albert Alexander Hatcher, 76 year old resident of 102 Lincoln Street, died in a Beckley hospital 5:30 p.m. yesterday after being ill for the past two years. He suffered a paralytic stroke about six weeks ago and remained critically ill.

Born at Greensburg, Ind., he was the son of James Austin and Sarah Agnes Cooper Hatcher. He moved to Summers County in 1881 and then to Beckley in 1907.

He was a building contractor and a member of the Bluestone Baptist Church.

He is survived by:
His wife, Mrs. Arminta Mae Pack Hatcher;
Six sons:
Hobart,
Theo,
James, all of Beckley,
R. Earl of Sophia,
Clyde Lee of Beaver
Oliver A. of Fayetteville;
Five daughters:
Mrs. L. O. Gunther,
Mrs. Clarice Lowe,
Mrs. Cecil W. Maples
Miss Ruth Hatcher, all of Beckley,
Mrs. Charles A. Lipscomb of Jacksonville, Ind.;
Two sisters:
Mrs. Vada Lilly and Mrs. Lula Cooper, both of Beckley;
25 grandchildren;
Seven great-grandchildren.

The body will be removed to the residence at 4 p.m. today. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Baptist Church in East Beckley by the Rev. Charles E. Walker, assisted by the Rev. Charles E. Walker, assisted by the Rev. E.L. Clower.

Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. The grandsons will be the active pallbearers.
