Aged 36 years
Eleanor/Elenor was the second child of John and Martha Hunter Harris. She married her cousin Hugh Harris, fifth child of Hugh and Martha Robison Harris, 8 August 1815 in Mecklenburg.
Hugh settled near his father's home on the public road leading to Nation Ford on the Catawba River. He was at an early age elected and ordained ruling elder in Steele Creek Church. His life came to a close on 14 January 1855.
The death of Eleanor's father, Captain John Harris in September 1824, necessitated a change, they moved into the house with the widowed mother. Soon another change took place, for a malignant fever brought Eleanor's life to a close 30 October 1828, in the 36th year of her age.
Eleanor was the mother of the following children:
