Nancy Agnes Harris, daughter of Capt. John and Martha [née Hunter] Harris, of York County, South Carolina. Nancy was a granddaughter of John and Eleanor [née Reynolds] Harris; whom famed Reform Presbyterian minister, Dr. Thomas Clark married, while he was unjustly held in Monaghan jail, 1754. Nancy's father had served in the North Carolina Militia during the Revolutionary War. Both the Harris and Hunter families were charter members of Steele Creek Presbyterian.

On February 13, 1817, Nancy Agnes married Rev. Charles Strong, a son of James Strong and Letitia Gaston [née Strong] Strong of Chester County, South Carolina. Charles' mother was a niece of Rev. Hugh Gaston; who wrote the book: "A Scripture Account of the Faith and Practice of Christians" used by theologian seminaries and the niece of his brother, John Gaston; whose family was well remembered for the revolutionary war heroism.

Nancy and Rev. Strong made their home in Newberry, South Carolina; where he was pastor of Cannon Creek, Kings Creek, Prosperity A.R.P. churches. They had five known children:

Mary Letitia (1821-1899)
Eleanor Euphemia (1823-1862)
Nancy Caroline (1824-1847)
