Daughter of Lawrence Fred Grimes and his wife, Mary Eva Kussart. Florence was listed as divorced in the 1940 census, and living at home with her parents and two sons. She married Oscar Cline in Kahoka, Missouri on 24 June 1941.

Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, the Senior Citizens and enjoyed church activities.

Survivors included four sons, Robert Paul Ostdiek of Ottumwa, George David Cline, Gary Lee Cline, and James Michael Cline, all of Burlington; two step-sons, Oscar Richard Cline Jr. of Burlington and Lee Cline of New London; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters; one son, Richard L. Ostdeik; one step-son, Robert Theodore Cline; and five grandchildren.
